Almost 10 years ago I photographed the classic 1969 socialist world clock in Berlin's Alexanderplatz. I love the solar system sculpture on top, but of more interest were the international city names cut from metal around the clock: a curious mix of stencil and serif.

The Bloodshot Brighteyed London-Berlin commission presented the perfect opportunity to digitise the font and make up a full character set based on the letters visible in my photos. Since the city-name face lacked numbering, logic dictated that we should simply use the large time zone numbers encompassing the clock's centre.
