Project: Bloodshot Brighteyed London-Berlin

Client: Bloodshot Brighteyed

Date: July 2003 / August 2004

Designers: James Goggin,
Laurenz Brunner
Design assistance 2004: Yann Do

‘Bloodshot Brighteyed’ was a series of group shows in London and Berlin organised by four Royal College of Art sculpture graduates, funded by Deutsche Bank. Practise was asked to design invites and a poster/catalogue for both London (2003) and Berlin (2004) shows.

Taking a cue from range of the artists' work, -- some clinical, some gory -- ambulance colours and patterns were used in the design along with a new typeface adapted from the 1969 socialist-designed world clock in Berlin's Alexanderplatz. The colours used for the London show were the fluorescent yellow and dark green seen on London ambulances, while the Berlin exhibition used krankenwagen beige and fluorescent orange.
