Project: Donald Judd
Client: Tate Modern
Date: February 2004
Designer: James Goggin
Practise designed the publicity material and exhibition graphic design for the major Donald Judd retrospective at Tate Modern curated by Nicholas Serota. Subtle changes were made to the official rounded Tate typeface by cutting the edges, creating a surprisingly different sans-serif face.
Rather than featuring some of Judd's more commonly shown work in the publicity material, a multi-coloured piece from the mid-80s was chosen, emphasising the exhibition's study of Judd's lesser-known role as a colourist.
