Project: File Notes
Client: Camden Arts Centre
Date: 2004--2005/ ongoing
Designers: James Goggin,
Sara De Bondt
Practise was asked by Camden Arts Centre to design an continuous series of A5 publications, ‘File Notes’, for each exhibition at Camden Arts Centre. The result is a series of booklets with die-cut numbered tabs and bound with looped staples, enabling the whole collection to be read as a reference book when collated in our custom screen-printed PVC A5 binders. A consistent grid and typography set (including James Goggin’s ‘Helix New’ font) is countered by a shifting colour and materials palette depending on the artist or exhibition.
While each individual File Note is merely a simple 8 or 12 page booklet, once bound together, the collection closer resembles a lavish yearbook, full of different paper stocks, various process and Pantone colours, laminations and die-cut tabs.
